Frank's Reel, written by John McCusker, is a rare beast indeed - a recently written tune that has become a firm session standard.
The accompanying video will enable fiddle players to see and hear John's setting of the tune and for players of other instruments to use it as a benchmark.
As a player, composer, producer and ambassador for traditional music, he has certainly been an inspiration to many and we are delighted to have his permission to use this tune.
If you've enjoyed learning it, please say thanks by buying an album or two and do catch him live in one of his many excellent projects!

Calum's Road, written by Donald Shaw, is a real session standard in Scotland and a great tune! It appears on the Capercaillie album The Blood is Strong, and was originally commissioned for a TV programme about the road built on Raasay by Calum MacLeod.
Donald is a brilliant player, but equally well known for his composition and production work, and has been a huge influence in the sound of modern folk music.
